We are very well aware of the environmental and health problems caused by single use plastic waste. It is the third most commonly used petroleum derivative in the world.
To tackle this problem, I experimented with a couple of biodegradable materials like vegetable and fruit peels to create sustainable, reneawable and eco friendly solution to single use plastic. A wide range of products can be made using these materials like, dishware, edible cutlery, can be used for packaging purposes etc.
Since these materials are made out of biodegradable materials without using any chemical additive or preservative, their decomposition is a natural phenomenon. Unlike conventional plastic, which can take hundreds of years to decompose in a landfill, these materials can easily decompose and releases lots of nutrients into the soil.

I strongly believe that single-use plastic should never be built to last, they should be designed to disappear. The future does not have to be more plastic, we can achieve both sustainability and healthier life by making responsible choices.
